The “Cavalli Toscana Rosso IGT” was the first red wine produced in the cellars of the “Tenuta degli Dei”. Then there are other fine wines: such as Le Redini, which can be considered the younger of the two IGTs due to the shorter aging time in cask and in bottle. Although there is no Sangiovese in the Tenuta degli Dei vineyards, Chianti Classico Forcole has been part of the Cavalli range since 2013. The Sangiovese required for Chianti Classico comes from a rented vineyard near the property. The farm has a beautiful assortment of wines, which is complemented by other tasty products such as grappa, vodka and gin.

The “Tenuta degli Dei” extends over a total area of about 70 hectares. The vines grow on five hectares. The vineyards, facing south, are at an altitude between 400 and 450 meters above sea level. The soil is rich in Galestro. All in all they are ideal conditions for viticulture. And in the middle the horses of the stable are unleashed, the lamas peek over the fence and the dogs of the family greet the visitors with a loud bark. A peculiarity is that the vinification plants and the cellar are not located directly on the estate, but within the walls of the Romanesque church of San Leolino. This is directly above the entrance to the “Tenuta degli Dei”: the tanks and equipment necessary for the winemaking process are adjacent to the walls of the church. Tommaso Cavalli (the owner) reveals that the faithful can sometimes be heard singing. The cellar is an ancient vault located just below the church. It could be said that the wine of the “Tenuta degli Dei” is produced with a heavenly blessing “from above”.
