Description
“Q” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is the superior selection of the estate’s grapes which are separated from the rest of the 2018 harvest. Q is mainly sangiovese, with a small addition of cabernet sauvignon. The 30% of the masses matured in new French and Hungarian oak barrels for 33 months.
It was bottled on 30 July 2021 and released in March 2022.
Q has several layers and the elegance of a “Q”-ueen!!! The nose is full of ripe cherries and raspberries, hints of oak, tobacco and coffee, Mediterranean herbs like rosemary and sage, but also cloves. The palate has good structure with deep and complex aromas. The acidity is fresh and still, the tannins are soft and give an elegant structure to the wine. It has a harmonious finish that lingers intensely on red fruits such as black cherry, plum and blueberry giving great persistence on the palate.
